Hailed by the New Music Connoisseur as "a portal into special sound worlds," Kathryn Woodard specializes in innovative programming of 20th-century repertoire. She has performed as soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe and the U.S. at festivals such as Music2000 (Cincinnati), Stockhausen-Tage (Germany) and the Opera Theatre of Lucca (Italy).

She holds the D.M.A. degree in piano performance and ethnomusicology from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and an undergraduate degree in piano from the Munich Hochschule fŸr Musik. Ms. Woodard is adjunct assistant professor at CUNY Hunter College. She is also an active performer and scholar of music by non-Western composers and currently serves as a consultant for Turkish music at the Silk Road Project, Inc.

She has been invited to perform recitals and give lectures at the Kyrgyz National Conservatory in May of 2001, and to give a solo recital of Turkish and American music at the Seventh International Piano Festival a CRR Concert Hall in Istanbul in December 2001.
